A part of the project Heart Island SHINDEN, using electricity generated with the windmill for environmental lighting, has been completed (architectonics: Urban Development Corporation).
Many LEDs draw the ripple of a wind on a sidewalk side. |

Nagai-city Lantern Market
Reiko Chikada participated Akari Talk session of Nagai-city Lantern Market as a panelist (host: Japan Urban Design Institute Tohoku Regional Block).
At first period, Ms. Motoko Hihara (environmental color science), Ms. Keiko Torigoe (soundscape philatelist), and Reiko Chikada (lighting designer) gave utterance to "The resources and the possibility of local cities". At second period, we shared some perceptions with "The charm and enjoying the local cities" focused on Mr. Sadakazu Kukida (city planning planner). At previous day (June 26), 21 students of the Tohoku University of Art & Design Product Design Subject performed the experimental trials: they arranged the lantern designed by themselves in along a waterway, and they held a night market in the precincts of a temple. |

The Double Lighthouse   
From the middle of the month in June, it has scheduled the students stay Josai International University Kamogawa Futomi Seminor House (architectonics : Ota construction design research institute). We can understand the existence of this building group built on a hill also from a distance, Reiko Chikada performed the scene lighting design which was likened the structure of two triangles prepared in the point of a tower with the lighthouse.

Kichijoji Sunroad Shopping Street   
The new arcade has a film structure. In the daytime we can fell seasonal changes by opening this flap film widely (architectonics : Kawamoto Akiharu Construction Design Office). I have created a space of rich expression by projecting images and colorful lights onto this flap film. As the place of origin of young cultures, many peoples from around the Japan visit here at weekend, this shopping street has become more festivity.

The Meiji University Academy Common completion   
As a part of the maintenance plan of Meiji University Surugadai campus, It had been completed in this spring. (architectonics : Kume Sekkei, lighting planned charge : Chikada and Nozawa)
The big open space which faced as Meiji University was planned for as the urban core type campus opend to the town. Mainly at the entrance lobby which is connected with an open space, many students are coming and going. |

The shelter in front of the Toyota-shi station has been completed   
The shelter (designed by Ishimoto Sekkei) made newly in front of the Toyota-shi station in Aichi prefecture had been asked for the lights that forms hustle and bustle as a core of a business area that spread peripherally around the station. To define the central axis of the city, from the station to Toyota Stadium via Toyota Ohashi bridge, Reiko Chikada selected blue and green for base color of the shelter. And added an wall objet d'art and ambient lights of LED that changes color according to seasons or times.

Opening of Hotel Sanyoan  
Hotel Sanyoan is completed (architectonics : Atelier ZO). It has been advanced the lightning designs as an annex of Daiichi Hotel in Tokachigawa-Onsen spa, Otofuke-Town, neighbor of Obihiro-city, Hokkaido. "Sanyoan" means three odds; Winters are odd of Years, Nights are odd of Days, Rains are odd of Times. Reiko Chikada designed different images of lightning for every 11 rooms that has a hot spring.

The committee of measures and examinations for the light pollutions
The 1st committee holded. It is for discusssing in specific terms for an amendment of "Guidelines For Measures Against Light Pollutions" prescribed by Ministry of Environments. Reiko Chikada attended it as a commission member.

A Happy New Year!
I greeted the new year in the airplane which goes to Narita from London.
At 8:40am, 10 minutes before landing, I got a laudable feeling when I saw Mt.Fuji which obtained snow on the clouds. I have a feeling that something good is going to happen at the beginning of the New Year. Right, I will also do it this year! and burning with a desire to fight. |
