Reiko Chikada attended to the symposium held in the Hall of Maru Building as a panelist.
Today when it finished the period of the high growth of economy after World War II, and people's sense of values diversified. The needs to the living environment switches it to quality from quantity. The points of the symposium: to support this qualitative needs, we should prevent the heat-island phenomenon, the light pollutions, the bad smells, and the noises. And we should generally promote town plannings which make much of human five senses, and we should secure good living environment. A city environmental design meeting / a word salon "a light and the scene of the city"

We gave the topics about the point to keep in mind and the technique of the lighting design in the projects. As for example, "Roppongi Hills" and "Omotesando Akarium" from Mr. Mende, "the new central zone of Saitama City" and "the project of Toyota City" from Chikada. |

Reiko Chikada gave a lecture in Sundaigakuen
The astronomy lecture of Sundaigakuen has the long history as an lecture thrown open generally. Appearance of Masatoshi Koshiba of the winning Nobel Prize in Physics is planned for 500 times of memory lectures on November 2007.
The lecture title was "Aims at the high quality illuminations". City activity to improve quality of life becomes the big cause of environmental problems such as global warming or the light pollution. To improve light pollutions, not only the regulations of excessive illuminations but also aiming at "The high quality illumination design" to consider the environments is needed. About "What is the constitution for good illumination?", "How does the role of the illumination change by the difference of the project?", Reiko Chikada introduced the way of thinking of the illumination design concretely with showing images. |

24th IALD Prize award ceremony
Reiko Chikada and Sho Takanaga attended at an award ceremony of 24th IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers) Prize held in Columbia University of New York. We won Award of Merit with Diana Garden Hiroo (architecture by Kajima Design), and won Special Citation with Retem Corporation Tokyo Factory (architecture by O.F.D.A.Associates).

International Lightfair 2007
The International Lightfair was held from May 6 to 10th in 2007 at Javits Convention Center of New York, the photograph of Kyushu National Museum displayed a cover of the formal registration company name book. We had won Award of Excellence of IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America) 2006 with the lighting work of the museum.

"playing lights in the garden of cherry blossom season" was started
"Playing lights in the garden of cherry blossom season" in the Hama-rikyu Gardens was started on April 6 until 15th. The large garden where takes one hour to go around, was full of a lot of people who enjoyed "the eight beauty lighting spots" whose made an elaborate plans. Hama-rikyu Gardens / playing lights in the garden of cherry blossom season
Look at image photographs of a part of the garden illumination that Reiko Chikada Design Office plays a key role and pushes forward.
We assemble light centering on three points: to make waterscape, to make a gorgeous, dynamic scene agreeing with overwhelming light of building group of Shiodome, to make a point to let everyone feel memory of water of Hama-rikyu.

The Toyota-City Gymnasium Main Arena
The Toyota-City Gymnasium Main Arena, which Reiko Chilada Design Office supervised lighting desings, was completed. (architecture by MHS Planners, Architects & Enginerrs) The Sub Arena which served as the martial arts ground planning in the same site is to be completed in December, 2009. We designed light to be united with "a city axis of light" (which consist of Toyota Stadium, Toyota-shi Station East Square, West Square, Toyota Ohashi Bridge and Shin-Toyota Station) by our lighing plan.

Lighting designer Reiko Chikada won excellent prize of IESNA consecutively for two years
Lighting designer Reiko Chikada attended at International Illumination Design Prize Award ceremony held in Arizona Science Center of Phoenix. An lighting plan of Kyushu National Museum won excellent prize of The Edwin F. Guth Memorial Award For Interior Lighting Design 2006 of IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America).
Following The Heart Island, Shinden Ichibangai of last year (it won excellent prize of The Waterbury Award For Outdoor Lighting), this is two consecutive year winning of excellent prize. As one of four excellent prize works chosen among entries from the world, a certificate of merit was given building owners, and a shield of crystal glass was given lighting designers. Audience praised and made a stir, that is why lighting designer Reiko Chikada wore "art of light" which emits blue light with movement (designed by Erina Kashiwabara). |
