Sky Hall Toyota

This gymnasium is a new symbol of Toyota city. Textile industry used to be strong in this city, but as it declined, the automobile industry developed by utilizing the technologies on textile. Our lighting concept is to express both the dynamic image of automobile and the memory of textile industry.
First, we lit the automobile-like roof to emphasize the outline of the building, and to make it recognizable from nearby bridge and crossings. Second, we wrapped the building with soft lights so the silhouettes of the louvers and the ribs may appear like warps and woofs of a cloth.
