This is a historic shrine with 300 year-old tower gate, main shrine, and outer shrine. Walking in its 22,000†F precincts, we feel the spirits of myth that gods dwell in all things. The shrine has always been opened to the public at all hours, but the precincts were left dark because of its sacredness. However, recently, neighbors requested to strengthen the security lighting. Our lighting concept is to attain security with minimum lights and to leave darkness where gods dwell. We effectively lit the ground and the vertical surfaces, so that the visitors can walk through the shrine safely.
