Keio's Century Welcoming Party

December 31, 21st Century Welcoming Party was held at Keio University Mita Campus in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The event was managed by joint association of students, alumni and school administration. Lighting plans, too, was made by students' project team. Requested by the students, Reiko Chikada took a part as a professional advisor.

This was the second century-welcoming event since 1900, where Keio and its founder Yukichi Fukuzawa had commemorated the beginning of the 20th century. In accordance with the precedent, all clocks in the campus were set to "Keio time," GMT + 14. People counted down the end of the 20th century and celebrated the coming of the new century.
