The old Fourth High School

The community hall of "the old Fourth High School Main Building" which is designated as an important national cultural asset was reopened as "Ishikawa Fourth High School Memorial Community Hall."

The redbrick building, preserved since its completion in 1891, appeared visionally in lights.
In our landscape lighting plan, we made use of the indoor lighting coming through the windows of the hall by turning on some lights after the closing time of the hall until the lights-out time of the exterior lighting. We also took great care in using the lamps which make the redbricks look most naturally.

The 18th family head of Maeda Family, former castellan of the Kanazawa Castle, became the first Director of the Memorial Community Hall. The Hall is expected to work as the center of cultural communication and to increase the popularity of the downtown area of Kanazawa city.
