Reiko Chikada was invited as a guest speaker at the Light + Design 2014 held in New Delhi on September 19th and 20th. It was the first international conference on lighting in India held by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers and supported by ELCOMA (Electric Lamp and Component Manufacturer's Association.) Reiko gave a 45 minute lecture about urban lighting design, titled "City, People, Light." Lighting designers from India, Japan, Germany, Sweden, and Australia participated in the conference. A wide range of subjects were discussed: urban lighting, daylight in architecture, LED and lighting design, landscape lighting in a city, future office lighting, residential and hospital lighting, architectural and interior lighting, and exterior architectural lighting. And in the exhibition, manufacturers from India, Korea, China and Japan set up booth with mainly the LED lamps and LED light fixtures. Most surprising of all was the number of Chinese manufacturers.
