2024 Japan-Korea Urban Design Exchange Meeting in Kanazawa/Toyama

The Japan-Korea Urban Design Exchange Meeting is now in its 10th year, and this year as many as 35 participants from Korea came to Japan. On the evening of June 20, prior to the event, Reiko Chikada guided the group around the stonewalls of Kanazawa Castle and the night views of the surrounding area, including Ishikawa Gate, Otemon Gate, and Nezumi-tamon Gate.
At Hakucho Road, where the brightness of the parkway lighting is reduced to 1/3 of normal during this season when fireflies are growing, the audience cheered as they saw real fireflies flying around.In Toyama on June 22, the mayor took time out from his official duties to share his thoughts on urban design prior to a city tour of the city.
