Heart Island Shinden Lighting Newal

The renewal of outdoor lighting and lighting fixtures in the common areas of each residential building at Heart Island Shinden (designed by Urban Renaissance Agency), which was constructed between 2004 and 2010, has been completed (in charge: Takanaga). The project, which utilizes electricity generated by a windmill (design cooperation: Iwamura Atelier Co,.Ltd and Co-operative Prode) for sidewalk lighting under the theme of “Light with a Sense of Nature,” was awarded the 2005 Paul Waterbury Award of Excellence from the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. The light, which has been replaced by new LEDs to increase its brilliance, spreads like ripples in response to the strength of the wind, allowing visitors to feel the power of nature.
