JUDI Conference National Convention 2025 in Niigata

Reiko Chikada participated starting on the 20th. On the 20th, after a guided walk around Niigata City's hanamachi district led by Aritomo Kubo, Secretary General of the Furumachi Hanamachi Association, she attended a forum viewing on the theme “What is Creative Reconstruction?” (featuring Hitoshi Watanabe, Ichiro Mizuno, Hidehiko Higuchi, Yasushi Sakuyama, Yu Shibata, Akira Ishii, and Masahiro Rachi), discussing reconstruction town planning in disaster-prone Japan. Through initiatives in disaster-affected areas like the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake and Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Kumamoto Earthquake, and the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake, participants collectively considered how reconstruction and community building should proceed. On the 21st, they took a ferry to Sado Island and toured the Sado Gold Mine, the Shukunegi settlement, and a Noh stage via chartered bus.
