Renovation of Kanazawa Castle Park and Lighting Renewal at Gyokusen-in-maru Garden

The lighting renewal has been completed for the three-dimensional garden at Gyokusen-in-maru, often referred to as the ‘Museum of Stone Walls’ within Kanazawa Castle Park, which features a 22-metre elevation difference.
It opened in 2015 as Japan’s first free, permanent public garden featuring a sound and light show. The lighting design programme, created by the Reiko Chikada Lighting Design Inc, is synchronised with performances of eight original compositions played on traditional Japanese instruments such as the koto and shakuhachi.
