48th Kanazawa Urban Beauty and Culture Award Ceremony

Hisae Nozawa, Senior Associate at the Reiko Chikada Lighting Design Inc., attended the 48th Kanazawa Urban Beauty and Culture Award Ceremony and was presented with a certificate by the Kanazawa City Urban Beauty Executive Committee (Chair: Matsutaro Fukumitsu). The project, ‘Creating a Night-time Landscape Characteristic of Kanazawa’ (Kakinohata Area), was commended for enabling visitors to enjoy a night-time scenery distinct from that of the daytime by introducing new lighting to landscape features such as stone walls and irrigation channels. It was also recognised that by focusing attention on the illuminated stone walls and waterways, visitors can more fully appreciate the texture of the stone and the sound of flowing water – charms that often go unnoticed amidst the hustle and bustle of the daytime.
