Summary

The scope of the project was public spaces of Ibaraki Prefectural office building. Spaces open to citizens are basically for daytime use, so the designer selected natural-color metal-halide lamps as the main source, whose light will be well blended with lights from outdoors. Meanwhile, luminance is set high, for fear that it be felt dark when people come indoors from under sunlight. By using metal-halide and fluorescent lamps, running costs are reasonably saved. In natural and warm light furnishing spaces, the building became the embodiment of citizens' government.
