National Crafts Museum Outdoor Sculpture
The masterpiece of sculptor Masayuki Hashimoto, " Sunlight Penetrating Fruit, Fruit in Sunlight Filtering Through Leaves (1978-88) " has been relocated from the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo to the National Crafts Museum. The work is made of dark brown forged metal with a width of 7m, a depth of 4m, and a height of 2m. Light enters through round holes drilled in places, and a galaxy-like light is projected inside the sculpture. The brightness and the spread of light that can be seen through the glass from inside the craft building were required (charge: Nozawa).
