The Akita Art Theater Mille Has Awarded the Lighting Facility Prize

The Akita Art Theater Mille Has (Architects: Joint Venture of AXS SATOW and Obata ARCHITECT OFFICE), built in Senshu Park and the ruins of Kubota Castle as a facility symbolizing Akita's history and cultural arts, has received the 2023 IEIJ Good Lighting Award from the Illuminating Engineering Institute of Japan. The lighting plan aimed to create exterior lighting that makes the most of the 400-year-old trees, earthen mounds, and moat that remain in the landscape, as well as lighting that creates a lively entrance space and a casually relaxing foyer space (in charge: Nozawa).
